Sneak Peek #1: 2014 Spring Makeup Trends

Here's a sneak peek into what to expect this Spring. We'll call this Sneak Peek #1 because I expect to hear more.
Color is going to be big this spring. Eyeshadows in pastel shades like baby blue, pinks and pistachio will be really in. Lip colors are going to have a brighter feel and I've learned that bold orange will be sweeping the makeup world. Oooooh!
Watch out because here comes the "no mascara" trend. I guess it's supposed to make you look younger and more innocent. Some of us will feel pretty naked without mascara but can still join in on the trend by using a blonde mascara which will give your lashes some definition.
Still in will be glowing skin. That's a must but there's a difference between glowy and shiny. The key is to get rid of unwanted shine around the unwanted areas such as the nose but to create a glow in specific areas.
The trick to this is going to be to either use a foundation that is sheer and brightening or to use a base that creates a glow. The first option will only work if you have healthy, clear skin and the second option will work if you don't. Here's some ideas.
Foundation's That Will Make You Glow:
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation $45
This Sheer Glow Foundation enhances, without masking, your overall natural complexion. The weightless formula hydrates the skin while complexion brightening properties improve skin brightness, radiance, and texture, leaving skin with a luminous, sensual glow. Comes in 17 shades.
Bobbi Brown Luminous Foundation $52
This foundation helps skin look instantly radiant, plumped, and moisturized for eight hours. Available in a spectrum of color-true shades, this long-wearing formula never looks cakey or dry.  Comes in 20 shades.
Stila Illuminating Finish Foundation $38
Never heavy, chalky, or dull, Illuminating Liquid Foundation glides on weightlessly for sheer-to-medium coverage and a silky semi-matte finish that evens out flaws while letting your skin's natural luminescence shine through. Comes in 8 shades.
Primers that will make you glow:
Smashbox Photo Finish Luminizing Foundation Primer $38
For a beautiful glow on the go, this Photo Finish primer adds just the right amount of luminosity in a travel-friendly size. The silky blend of vitamins and antioxidants smooths and perfects skin, while the unique formula supports natural collagen and fills in fine lines and pores for a flawless finish. Great for every day use, it preps skin for flawless makeup application and creates a picture-perfect complexion. It reduces the appearance of fine lines and pores with age-fighting antioxidants, such as green tea, grape-seed extract, and vitamins A, C, and E.
Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Radiance Bronze $33
This hydrating, water-based gel preps skin with for healthy glow and creates the perfect canvas for makeup. Enriched with jojoba oil and vitamins A, C, and E, it kisses skin with a golden pearlescent tint, creating a soft focus and a fresh-from-the-sun finish.
Urban Decay Brightening & Tightening Complexion Primer Potion $31
Dull skin? Fine lines? Disappearing foundation? Try Brightening Complexion Primer Potion under foundation (or alone!) for beautifully moisturized skin that looks brighter and feels tighter. This lightweight, oil-free, never-greasy formula includes the buzz-worthy ingredient Matrixyl 3000—celebrated for its ability to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Hyaluronic Filling Spheres also minimize the look of fine lines while leaving skin beautifully moisturized. Your skin will look youthful and lifted and your foundation will slide on smoothly, evenly, and last longer. Though it's ideal for mature complexions that crave moisture, this brightening formula is sure to give every skin type a healthy glow.
